Barb's Fruit Cobbler

The pint of fresh blueberries on my counter were begging to be transformed into a cake! So I made Barb's Fruit Cobbler today. The recipe calls for 4 cups of fresh fruit, so I added chopped fresh apricots to the left side of the pan.
Here is the recipe:
FRUIT
4 cups blueberries or any fresh fruit or combo

BATTER
1 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon. baking powder
dash salt - I used abt 1/4 tsp. when using unsalted butter
2 to 3 Tablespoon melted butter (I used 3 Tablespoon)
1/2 cup milk
Mix dry ingred. together.  Add milk & oil and stir gently to completely mix and form batter.
I added about 1-1/2 teaspoon vanilla

TOPPING
1/4 cup sugar
1 TBLSP. cornstarch
Mix very well.

LAST INGREDIENT
1 cup boiling water

DIRECTIONS:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. for pyrex oblong pan, 7 x 11" (or 2 quart size)
Heat the 1 cup of water-(2 min in my microwave).
Can use non stick spray on pan bottom and sides.
Spread FRUIT on bottom of pan.
By spoonfuls, place BATTER on top of fruit, being careful not to mix.
Sprinkle TOPPING (sugar & cornstarch mixture) over batter.
LAST INGREDIENT: Pour the cup of boiling water over the entire contents, being careful not to mix.

Bake 35-40 min. or till done.
Enjoy!

Notes: Barb made us Rhubarb Cobbler July 9, 2003 and also June 24, 2013.
In the past, I've made this with 3 cups fresh blueberries and 1 cup chopped peeled apple! Delish!

Because my apricots were tart, I sprinkled some sugar on top of the apricots before adding the topping.
I also sprinkled a little cinnamon on top of ALL the fruit before adding the topping. A very easy recipe that looks and tastes wonderful!

Stampfest with Lynette on June 25, 2013

I always have fun stamping with Lynette! Here are the cards and tags we made on Tuesday at her house. Our first card was inspired by Pinterest pinned from Catherine Loves Stamps

These gear cards were made with the Archiver's Everyday Occasions Card kit. We like to up-size the cards to the "standard" 4-1/4" wide x 5-1/2" high card. Used white cardstock for the base.

Our tags were inspired by The Funkie Junkie. Notice we were "inspired" and our tags look nothing like Linda's tag.

Below you can see all of our creations together on Lynette's work table:
Materials used:
Stamps: Tim Holtz, Stampers Anonymous and unknown brands
Inks: Versafine, Distress
6 x 6 pad of Authentique Seasons: Summer
various fibers, including real feathers

Lynette made a delicious lunch of Quinoa salad, the recipe found on Pinterest pined from Livvy's 86 Lemmons.  We also had fresh fruit--don't you love summer foods!

...and here we are at the end of our stamping!
Thanks for visiting!

Father's Day 2013

Here is the Father's Day card I made for my FIL:
Since my FIL really likes Hawaii, I added a Hawaiian-like scene from Stampscapes on the inside.
Below I've used the Stampin' Up! train set for my dad's card. Can you tell he loves trains?
Materials used:
Cuttlebug Stars embossing folder
Inks: Stampin' Up! Brocade Blue and Bliss Blue
Faded Jeans Distress marker

Wedding Card & Tag

I continue to use old book pages as layers in my cards. Here's a wedding card I made for our neighbors:
Stamps:  Hero Arts ClearDesign-Treasure the Moments CL15, Stampers Anonymous Bitty Grunge CMS089
Ink: Distress pumice stone, Stampin' Up! Rose Romance
Used Gesso for the circles on the front
Cuttlebug Embossing folders: Allegro, D'Vine Swirl, Script
Fiskars scallop border punch
Zig Pigment Ink Pen: Rose
Used left over heart shapes from my stash.

And here is a tag I made for the May Challenge at the Enjoy Michael Strong Yahoo Group:
I cut cream cardstock  3-1/4 x 6-1/8 inches, trimming the top corners and adding a 1/4" hole in the top center. For my background I used direct to paper adding distress inks, Broken China, Shabby Shutters and a dab of Peeled Paint to my craft sheet. Spritzed that with a water. Before placing my tag onto the craft sheet, I drew some random lines on the tag with a hunk of beeswax-white crayon works too. This resists the ink. Smooshed the paper onto the craft sheet to apply the inks. Dried the tag with a heat tool. I made my own "reinforcement" for the tag with a 1/4" punch then a 1/2 in circle punch. I distressed a rectangle of an old book page. I stamped the cat in Rusty Hinge and the dog with Brushed Corduroy and clear embossed those. I wrote "My Best Friends" in black permanent marker on blue paper and layered that on cream that I distressed with blue ink.  Adhered ruffled eyelet to the bottom and cut a strip of blue lace for the top tie.

RAK-Secret Garden Flower Stamp

Lynette send me this beautiful RAK. She said she used Stampin' Up's Secret Garden stamp with Seedless Preserves Distress Ink. She went over the stamped flowers with an aqua painter to get the subtle watercolor effect.
Here is the cute inside. I love the sentiment!
The flower is from Stampin' Up!'s Secret Garden set. I'm not sure, but the inside sentiment looks like it's a Hero Arts stamp.
